Fantasy Corner – Starts & Sits: Week 11
Each week during the NFL season, I try to help you choose the best players to start/sit, through a combination of research and experience. If you have an start/sit question hit me up on twitter @JamesMaguire21
Alex Smith (KC) Vs. NYG
Smith has been fantastic this season, has has become a QB1 for fantasy. He has a fantastic matchup this week against a struggling Giants team. If you factor in that Smith has been very good away from home, and that Andy Reid has a fantastic record coming off of a bye, everything points to a big day for Smith.
Other QB’s to Start – Carson Wentz (PHI) Vs. Cowboys, Derek Carr (OAK) Vs. Patriots
Tevin Coleman – (ATL) Vs. SEA
Coleman has a great opportunity this week with Freeman out, and even though he has a tough matchup I still expect him to perform. He works well in both the passing and running games, and every time he gets an increased workload he delivers. Start him with confidence despite the matchup.
Other RB’s to Start – Marshawn Lynch (OAK) Vs. Patriots, Jay Ajayi (PHI) Vs. DAL
Sterling Shepard (NYG) Vs. Chiefs
The Giants have been a mess this season but Shepard (along with Engram) has been a bright spark. Since he came back from injury he has been fantastic, and this week should be another great week for the WR, as he faces a Chiefs defence that is giving up the most points per game to opposing WR’s.
Other Wr’s to Start – Tyreek Hill (KC) Vs. Giants, Amari Cooper (OAK) Vs. Patriots
Cameron Brate (TB) Vs. Dolphins
Brate has been dissapointing over the past few games, but I would stick with him this week in what is a nice matchup against the Dolphins. Miami’s defence has been awful at defending TE’s over the pas few games and Brate should be in for a nice week.
Other TE’s to start – Kyle Rudolph (MIN) Vs. Rams, Vernon Davis (WAS) Vs. Saints
Andy Dalton (CIN) – Vs. Broncos
Dalton has been up and down all season and is a player that you can only trust in good matchups. That’s not the case this week, as he has a tough matchup against a strong Broncos defence. I would keep him benched this week.
Other QB’s to sit – Eli Manning (NYG) Vs. KC
Lamar Miller (HOU) Vs. Cardinals
Miller was having a decent season until Watson got injured, but his performance last week was disappointing. He could be hard to trust with poor QB play, and if you factor in that the Cardinals have a good run defence, he is a risky play this week.
Other RB’s to sit – Alf Morris (DAL) Vs Eagles, Latavius Murray (MIN) Vs. Rams
Kelvin Benjamin (BUF) Vs. Chargers
Benjamin is still settling into his new team so it will take him a little while to start performing. However, he now has to deal with a QB change which is a downgrade and that should also hinder him this week. I would keep him benched until he starts performing.
Other WR’s to sit – Davante Adams (GB) Vs. Ravens,
Eric Ebron (DET) Vs.Bears
Ebron had a decent game last week but has been awful for the rest of the season. I would expect him to revert back to under performing this week against a tough Bears defence that has only given up 2 TD’s to opposing TE’s.
Other TE’s to sit – Charles Clay (BUF) Vs. Chargers
