Fantasy Corner – Starts & Sits: Week 4

Fantasy Corner picture

Dak Prescott – QB (DAL)

Prescott has a really nice matchup this week against a Rams team that give up a large amount of point to opposing QB’s away from home. He performed admirably over the first 3 games of the season against tough defences, and I expect him to really explode this week. He is a QB1 in all formats this week.

Other QB’s to start: Russell Wilson (SEA), Andy Dalton (CIN)

Joe Mixon – RB (CIN)

Mixon appears to have taken over the starting role in Cincinnati, as he led the backfield in touches last week. The Browns have allowed opposing rushers to score in each of the past 2 games, and this is the week to start using Mixon in your lineups.

Other RB’s to start: Mark Ingram (NO), Javorius Allen (BAL)

Jarvis Landry – WR (MIA)

The Dolphins were an absolute disaster last week in what should have been a great matchup for their passing attack. However, I wouldn’t panic on most of their players, especially Landry (who has been targeted 26 times in his first 2 games) who should have a nice game this week. He has a good matchup against a weak Saints defence who have been susceptible to allowing points to slot receivers. Keep him active.

Other WR’s to start: Dez Bryant (DAL), Allen Hurns (JAC)

Kyle Rudolph – TE (MIN)

Rudolph was awful last week: only catching one pass for a few yards. However I expect him to be back to his best this week against a Lions team that he has traditionally had success against. Keep him active and he won’t disappoint.

Other TE’s to start: Jimmy Graham (SEA), Cameron Brate (TB)

Derek Carr – QB (OAK)

Carr had a very sub par game last week and I don’t expect things to improve much this week, as he faces a tough Broncos defence. Carr has had a tough time against the Broncos in previous meetings and they’ve been very tough to pass against again this season. With Crabtree nursing an injury and Cooper struggling, it would be advisable to look at other option at QB this week.

Other QB’s to sit: Matthew Stafford (DET), Ben Roethlisberger (PIT)

Ameer Abdullah – RB (DET)

Abdullah was another player who performed below expectations last week. The Lions are continuing to give him plenty of touches but he is not providing huge gains. He has a very tough matchup this week against a Vikings defence that hasn’t allowed an opposing runner score a TD so far this season. I would keep him on my bench this week.

Other RB’s to sit: Frank Gore (IND), Isaiah Crowell (CLE)

Amari Cooper –  WR (OAK)

Cooper is one of my favourite dynasty players, but after a good start to the season he has really struggled with drops. If you factor in that he has a tough matchup against the Broncos this week, and that Crabtree could be out injured, you have to be worried about him this week. If you are starting him I would temper expectations, and if you had a better option I would use it.

Other Wr’s to sit: Pierre Garcon (SF), Brandon Marshall (NYG)

Jack Doyle – TE (IND)

Doyle has become very unpredictable without Andrew Luck, and proved last week that you can’t trust him with a very disappointing performance. You have to keep him on your bench this week against a Seahawks defence that is one of the best in the league at stopping opposing TE’s.

Other TE’s to sit: Coby Fleener (NO), Julius Thomas (MIA)
